I had a mixed experience at The Summit Hotel in Big Sky. The location was unbeatable, right at the ski lifts, which made skiing super easy. I appreciated the recently remodeled spaces and the attentive staff. However, I faced some issues with breakfast options and soundproofing in my room, which detracted from the overall enjoyment.

Rooms
8.0
My room was spacious with a cozy gas fireplace. However, it wasn't very soundproof, and I often heard noise from the hallway.
Service

The staff were generally attentive and friendly, especially the ski valets like Brian, but I did experience some inconsistencies with service during breakfast and check-in.

The Summit is perfectly situated right at the ski lifts, making it incredibly convenient for skiing. I couldn't ask for a better location.

While the dining options were decent, I found the breakfast menu limited and felt that the buffet was missed. The service could be slow at times, especially in the mornings.

The hotel had great amenities, including ski storage and a jacuzzi in some rooms, but I felt the parking situation could be improved as it was often too far away.

Our stay at the Summit Hotel was enjoyable overall, thanks to the fantastic location right at the main Big Sky ski lifts and beautiful views of Lone Peak. However, while our 4BR penthouse was spacious and accommodating, the amenities fell short in some areas. The breakfast was decent, but the dining space felt a bit dark and uninviting. Although we loved the convenient access to the slopes, we were disappointed with the security, as it made us feel uneasy at times.

Rooms

The 4BR penthouse was very spacious and had excellent views, but the overall condition felt less luxurious than expected.
Service

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the ski valet service was a nice touch.

My stay at the hotel was quite the experience. While the room I initially got was nice and spacious, having to change rooms in the middle of my stay because of a mix-up really dampened my mood. The staff were generally helpful, but the lack of room service and other amenities made things less enjoyable. On the bright side, my second room had a beautiful view, and the skiing right outside was a huge plus. Overall, I felt the hotel had a lot of potential, but some operational issues need to be addressed.

Rooms
8.0
The second room I had offered a stunning view and was spacious with a cozy fireplace, which I really appreciated. However, the hassle of changing from another room was definitely frustrating.
Service

While the staff tried to be helpful, the delays in service and lack of communication regarding amenities were disappointing. I faced long wait times at the restaurant and no room service during my stay.

My stay was good but came with some issues. The staff provided excellent service and I felt welcomed, but the experience was marred by some disorganized processes. The hotel offers a nice facility and is located perfectly near the slopes. However, the presence of non-paying guests using the common areas made it less enjoyable. Overall, the hotel has great potential but requires better management of shared spaces.

Rooms
9.0
The rooms were comfortable and clean with stunning views of the mountains. However, I didn't specifically comment on the breakfast.
Service
8.0
The service was exceptional, with attentive staff members who genuinely cared about providing a great experience. However, there were some process issues that made things inconvenient.

6.8/10

The hotel has an unbeatable location just steps away from the slopes, making it perfect for ski enthusiasts. The service staff is truly responsive and eager to help. On the downside, the rooms left much to be desired in terms of comfort and size, especially for the price. Additionally, the dining experience was underwhelming, particularly the breakfast buffet, which felt low quality.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms offered great views of the ski area but were cramped, with a Murphy bed that wasn't comfortable. I expected more for the price.
Service
9.0
Service was outstanding, with staff available to assist at any time. They really went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay.
Location
10.0
You can't beat the location; it's literally at the base of the slopes, making it incredibly convenient for skiing.
Dining

The breakfast buffet was disappointing, with poor-quality food and a very long wait just to be seated despite open tables.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had nice amenities, including a large hot tub that was a highlight of my stay. However, it could use some upgrades.

8.2/10

The Summit at Big Sky offers a nice stay with its good amenities and location right next to the chairlifts, making it convenient for skiing. The hotel is relatively new and well-maintained, but some design flaws and maintenance issues affect the experience. Overall, it’s a comfortable place, but a few aspects could use improvement, particularly in the bathrooms and room amenities.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are spacious with great views of the ski area, but the design of the shower could be better and luggage storage is limited.
Service
7.0
The service was mostly good, especially with helpful staff, but it was frustrating waiting for a repairman and having slow response times for extra items.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is ideal for ski enthusiasts, being right next to the chairlifts, making it easy to hit the slopes.
Dining
10.0
The breakfast buffet was outstanding with plenty of options, and the staff went the extra mile to accommodate special requests.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel has good amenities, but lacking enough luggage racks in the room is a downside for such a ski resort.
